Porter Cable Belt Sander-Hard core Power Tool

The Porter Cable Belt Sander maybe the toughest Power Tool in my Shop.

I have been an amateur woodworker for a lot of years and I have seen
Power Tools come and go but the one that has lasted the longest is the
Porter Cable Belt Sander. This tough little sander has with stood more
abuse than I can describe. It has been used for everything that needs
sanding (and a lot of things that would never be recommended by Porter
Cable) and has never even slowed down.

I love this little 20 year old sander there is nothing in the shop that
can compare. There is nothing sexy about it. It just does the work. I
like the fact that it is heavy enough to get to work right away, it grabs
the work without effort on my part and just goes to work. I don’t like a
sander that takes a lot of effort on my part and the Porter Cable Sander
just fits the bill. Not too heavy to lift and maneuver but heavy enough
to work on it’s own.

I like the lever operated belt changing system which is much better than
other sanders. It is easy to adjust the tracking, once set it stays put.

Another great thing about this little sander is it’s balance. You never
need to worry about it rocking and gouging the wood while you sand. It just
feels right and works the same way.

Porter Cable has enjoyed a reputation for quality since 1926 and they just keep
building quality into their equipment. I have had a lot of disasters when using
tools in my shop and most of the time whatever tool was involved needed to
be replaced but not the Porter Cable. Water, fire, inexperienced users,
stupid places to use the tool,dropping it,sanding concrete, etc nothing seems
to phase it. It just keeps on doing its job without a whimper.

If you need a belt sander or are just fed up with something that is not working,
the Porter Cable Belt Sander cannot be topped.
